If I put on some distortion and roll back the tone a little it sounds like a humbucker (only with more hum obviously). I love having tone control on the bridge pickup. It has a lot of chimey twang but has absolutely no problem chugging Metallica riffs if you want to. It's got a very Hendrixy 60s Strat neck sound that I really love. Does anyone know the specs for the pickups on a Classic 60s Tele? The neck pickup is amazing. There's a shop in the UK that carries Callaham parts so I just ordered a stainless set from them for much cheaper. However $75 plus $50 international shipping plus another 23% getting raped on VAT import tax doesn't seem to be worth it. I actually wanted to get a set of those Glendale groovy 60s threaded saddles as that looked like the perfect solution to still look as close to stock as possible. I guess another thing I forgot to mention is I'm in Europe. I'm basically just a new guy on the Tele and would like to get some good information on how to set this thing up with proper intonation but keep the vintage look and sound. This combined with raising the saddles up for proper action (the neck pocket seems not as deep as my Strat) makes the intonation screws sit at a steep angle and the ends stick up between the strings a bit. I've got it intonated as close as I can and the saddles seem pretty far back. I'm also wondering about the length of the intonation screws the saddles are mounted with. I've had great results with a Callaham bridge on my Strat. I am wondering what are the best ones to get? I love the sound of the stock saddles so I'd like to stick with steel and not brass. I know they make saddles that are tilted or shaped to help with intonation. This thing will NOT intonate properly across all the strings. The one and only gripe I have is the bridge saddles. I love the wiring being able to combine the two and use the tone control on both. The bridge pickup is seriously gnarly and monstrous while the neck pickup is clean and heavenly. I love this thing! It's a great weight around 7lbs. I can't believe it took me so long to get a Tele. It's my first Tele after playing metal guitars (ESP, Jackson, Ibanez, BCR) and Strats for the last 22 years. I just got a Classic 60s Mexican Tele in Oly White.
